This Mother’s Day actually marks my second one, though I was a bit out of it for the first one having just returned home from the hospital and being day 5 with pretty much no sleep.
I don’t really remember much of the day, other than my husband kicking me out of the house for a few hours with many assurances that baby Liam would be just fine. For my first big trip out of the house I went to the grocery store. I am not sure what that says about me… I am practical?
When I returned home after my two hour banishment was up I was given my first Mother’s Day gift. A brand new digital Canon Rebel complete with a memory card that had a photo shoot with pictures of my new born son and the original “babies”, his puppy brothers.
My husband is an awesome gift giver, and is far more adept at surprising me than I ever will be at surprising him… I end up giving away the secret.
I love the pictures from this photo shoot, that was done with the help of my awesome sister-in-law, Aunty Moonshine, who is The Bean’s Momma… so of course we got an adorable picture or two of the infant Bean and Liam together, as well as some solo shots of My Hubs and Liam. The Liam and Da photos still bring a tear to my eye (damn hormones).
This year I was a bit more energetic; sleep is a wonderful thing! I was treated to a Mother’s Day Brunch hosted by my husband and Uncle Moonshine for myself and Aunty Moonshine. Liam and The Bean got in some quality playtime (which means quality nap time later, hooray!), and Momma and Aunty Moonshine sipped on mimosas (delicious). The photo shoot did not go as well as I would have liked, but its hard to pin the toddlers down. The afternoon was relaxing, then we had a nice Mother’s Day dinner/Birthday dinner for my Mom this evening, followed by a sunset walk with Grammy and Grampy D. All in all it was a pretty perfect day 🙂 This year’s present is a digital picture frame to display all of my awesome Liam and puppy brother pictures as well as a bigger memory card. The hubs gets me. I couldn’t ask for better 🙂
